Xander Schauffele emerged victorious at the 2024 Open Championship in Scotland last week. The 30-year-old not only went home with his second Major title of the season but also earned the title of ‘Champion Golfer of the Year’.
To celebrate winning a massive cheque worth $3.1 million last week, Xander and his wife Maya flew to Portugal for a break. Following a missed cut at the Royal Troon Golf Club, Rory McIlroy also traveled to the same country to blow off steam with his wife, Erica Stroll.
Schauffele went on the trip not just with his partner, but also the prestigious Claret Jug trophy. The two-time Major championship winner shared some picturesque snaps from the vacation with his 433,000 Instagram followers. He captioned the post as,

Rory McIlroy had hoped to end his decade-long drought without a Major championship victory last week. However, after missing the cut by five strokes, the Irishman jetted to Portugal in his private jet (worth a whopping $30 million).
