The 85th edition of the Wyndham Championship is scheduled from August 8 to 11 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
However, dark clouds are hovering over the last tournament of the PGA Tour’s regular season.
Wyndham Championship has restricted the entry of fans to the course for the first round because of the weather conditions in the area. Nuclr Golf reported that up to five inches of rain are predicted for Thursday.

Furthermore, journalist Todd Lewis reported that because of heavy rain and a flood-like situation in North Carolina, there might be no play on Thursday. He also mentioned the possibility of a 36-hole finish on Sunday, August 11.
“Real possibility there will be no golf played Thursday at the @WyndhamChamp because of 4-7 inches of rain expected to fall from Tropical Storm Debby. If Thursday is a wash a possibility is Rd 1 Friday, Rd 2 Saturday and a 36 hole finish on Sunday,” Lewis wrote.
The outlook for the Wyndham Championship on Friday doesn’t look good either. As per AccuWeather:
“Rainfall associated with Tropical Storm Debby will result in an increased threat for flooding across the Watch area. Additional rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches are expected through Friday with locally higher amounts in excess of 10 inches.”
So far, six people have died due to the Tropical Storm Debby. The deaths were reported in Florida where Debby hit the coast as a Category 1 hurricane.
