Zurich Classic of New Orleans highlights

Exactly half of the teams that started the Zurich Classic of New Orleans made the cut (40 out of 80). The second round was played in foursomes format, and the course proved to be very demanding in this mode, as only 17 teams managed scores in the 60s.

The duo of Davis Thompson and Andrew Novak relied precisely on a round of 69 to take a share of the lead. The other three teams holding on to first place at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans scored 70s.

Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele carded the best second round (67) to climb 24 places on the leaderboard and sit T5, just one stroke behind the leaders. Cantlay and Schauffele have played four times as a team at the Zurich Classic and already won in 2022.

Other favorites who improved markedly were brothers Alex and Matt Fitzpatrick, who moved up 25 places to T19, three strokes behind first place.

There were also some teams that surprisingly missed the cut. These included Sahith Theegala and Will Zalatoris and brothers Nicolai and Rasmus Hojgaard.
