Scottie Scheffler expressed his appreciation for his fellow golfer at the FedEx St. Jude Championship as he congratulated Hideki Matsuyama on winning the tournament.
Hideki Matsuyama won the FedEx St. Jude Championship with a score of 17-under, while the World No. 1, three shots behind Matsuyama, finished in fourth position with 14-under.
Hideki Matsuyama carded seven birdies in the first round to finish at 65. In the following round, he again shot seven birdies to land at 64. In the third and fourth rounds, Matsuyama scored 64 and 70, respectively to clinch the title at the TPC Southwind.
Following the event’s conclusion, Scottie Scheffler approached Hideki Matsuyama and hugged the golfer, congratulating him on his win. This moment was later shared on the PGA Tour’s official X handle with the caption:

In the opening round, Scheffler shot four birdies on the front nine and one birdie, along with a bogey on the back nine. The score stood at 66 at the end of the round.
In the following round, Scheffler carded two birdies on holes 3 and 8 and three on holes 15, 16, and 17 to finish at 65 at the end of the round. In the third and fourth rounds, he ended with scores of 69 and 66, respectively.
