Ian Poulter joined the LIV Golf League in 2022, leaving the PGA Tour behind. Partnering with Lee Westwood and Henrik Stenson, he co-captains the Majesticks GC.
With the LIV Golf Invitational in Greenbrier underway, Poulter offered a glimpse into his professional journey before joining the Saudi-backed league.
The two-time World Golf Championship winner says that there’s “not a lot” that he misses about the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. He expressed gratitude for everything that LIV Golf had given him. Here’s what the 48-year-old said (via Golf Monthly):
“What do I miss about the DP World Tour and PGA Tour? Well, there’s not a lot I miss, because, you know, I’m doing the same thing I was doing on LIV [Golf]. The format change is different obviously.”

The emergence of the LIV Golf League has significantly divided the golf world. Fans and players alike have been impacted by the Saudi-backed league’s inception in 2022. Poulter has openly expressed his longing for former PGA Tour colleagues, admitting to limited interaction since his departure.
“I do miss some friends. The guy you would have seen for 20 weeks a year, which obviously you don’t really see them anymore. So that probably [is] the only thing I would say I miss,” he stated.
