Keegan Bradley was named the US team captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup on Monday, July 8. Less than 24 hours later, Bradley held a press conference, where he talked about his position on LIV Golf players.

The Ryder Cup captain assured that specific tours of the players will not factor into the team’s integration:

Fans have reacted strongly to the statement from Bradley, mostly in supportive tones.

Another fan said:

“Bryson and Brooks confirmed”
Let’s take a look at some other reactions from fans:

“So Koepka, DeChambeau, DJ & Reed should expect a call?” one fan posted.
“So Spieth won’t be under consideration WE WIN,” another user wrote.
“Already infinitely better than ZJ,” another fan said.
At 38, Bradley is the second-youngest US captain in history. The first was the legendary Arnold Palmer in 1963, aged 34 at the time.

What else did Keegan Bradley talk about at the press conference?
Bradley admitted that his appointment as captain came as a great surprise initially. He also revealed that although the news was announced on Monday, he has been aware of his new responsibility for the past two weeks.

Bradley also reiterated that he has not given up on making the team as a player, although he assured that he will not be one of the captain’s picks. This is what he said (via AP):

“I want to make the team on points, otherwise I’m going to be the captain.”
Bradley also addressed the topic of his age in the interaction. The newly-appointed American skipper hopes to bring a different approach to the team. He also admitted that surrounding himself with the right vice-captains will be very important.

The golfer said he is considering picking a young vice-captain. He believes it is a way to groom future captains for the team.

Bradley has won six PGA Tour events so far, including the 2011 PGA Championship. He was appeared in the Ryder Cup twice so far, in 2012 and 2014. However, he is yet to win the competition. So far, he has contributed four points to the American side in seven matches. Three of those points came with Phil Mickelson.

The next edition of the Ryder Cup will take place in Farmingdale, New York in September 2025.
