Keegan Bradley was recently announced as the captain of the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Team. He has now responded to the critics who’ve been questioning his appointment because of lack of experience.

In the introductory press conference as the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain, Keegan Bradley underlined how he would approach the job. He said (via Golf Channel):

PGA: Travelers Championship - Third Round

“I would say I’m going to take a fresh look at my vice-captains. They’re going to be a lot younger, closer to playing. I think that I’m going to be out there with the guys.” (14:10-14:30)

The World No. 19 said that he’d be playing in the same tournaments like Majors as the team players. He said that his method would be different than the previous captains as he’d be there along with the players in the locker room, practice rounds, and at dinner and wouldn’t have to schedule these interactions like past captains who had to fly in for such events. He further said (via Golf Channel):

“And I’m going to have a year of being with the guys as a peer and one thing that is important to me is I want to play on the team. I feel as though I’m still in the prime of my career and can make this team. So it’s a great great honor that my peers chose me to do this,” he added (at 14:45-15:10).

While admitting that he lacked the experience previous captains had, Bradley remarked that he knows the team members well.

Keegan Bradley has played in the Ryder Cup twice for Team USA in 2012 and 2014. He was also a member of Team USA during the 2013 Presidents Cup.
