Tiger Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren sent a brutal message to the golfers mistress when learning of his affair –
which reportedly led to his infamous front garden crash taking place.
In November 2009, just after 2am on Thanksgiving night, two police officers responding to an emergency call found Woods lying on the ground in front of his black Cadillac Escalade outside of his home. The vehicle had hit a fire hydrant at speed before colliding with a tree.
Woods had reportedly been attempting to get away from Nordegren, who came out of their house with a golf club and smashed his windows after learning of his affairs – said to be with multiple women.
Woods’ biographer James Patterson told the Daily Mail that Nordrgren became aware of the affairs, despite Woods denying the allegations that a magazine had intended to reveal, before she reached out to one of the women herself.
After checking his mobile phone while Woods has been sleeping, Nordegren had called one of them women saying: “I know everything,” with the two sharing messages before she reached out to another women.
The women asked who had been calling her, with Nordegren responding: “You know who this is, because you’re f—— my husband.”
The vehicle driven by Tiger Woods during his accident is seen on December 2, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. Woods crashed the SUV into the fire hydrant and tree next to his Florida home in the early hours of November 27
After waking Woods and confronting him, he briefly locked himself in the bathroom before fleeing the house and getting into his Cadillac, only to crash within 150 yards just outside of his front garden in the small town of Windermere, Florida – near Disney World and Universal Studios.
The incident would be the beginning of Woods’ career-derailing, taking time away from the sport while releasing a statement seemingly admitting to his infidelity.
His statement read: “After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person.”
After this information had came out though, further women would reach out to Nordegren, as well as media outlets, including ‘an onslaught of porn stars, strippers, escorts and party girls’ leaving his then-wife feeling ’embarrassed for having been so deceived’.
The two would be divorced less than a year later, becoming official August 2010, with Nordegren receiving a whopping $100m settlement and shared custody of their children.
