At the 2024 LIV Golf Adelaide event, Dustin Johnson expressed his dismay with Bryson DeChambeau giving away his socks to a fan after losing a putting contest.
The event commenced on Friday, April 26, and concluded on Sunday, April 28. During a practice session at The Garage Golf Club, DeChambeau competed in a putting contest but failed to make the putt and subsequently gifted his socks to a fan.
Following the contest, DeChambeau walked to the club without socks, carrying his shoes in hand. Seeing this, Dustin Johnson, who was seated on the stairs, couldn’t help but inquire about it.
“I lost my socks in a putting contest,” said DeChambeau.
“You had to give your socks?” asked Johnson.
“Someone wanted my socks. I missed the putt,” replied DeChambeau.
“That’s disgusting,” said Johnson.
Bryson DeChambeau shared a video of Dustin Johnson’s reaction to him walking without socks at the LIV Golf Adelaide on his Snapchat account.
LIV Golf Adelaide is known for its unique traditions, including the practice of players performing a “shoey” to celebrate victories or notable shots. Australian golfer Cameron Smith also had a shoey before the final round on Sunday.
