Scottie Scheffler is the best golfer in the world. The winner of last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, he’s looking to become the first player ever to win the Players Championship in consecutive years, and he’s off to a strong start.
However, he is dealing with some neck pain that is forcing him to receive treatment. Friday morning, PGA Tour Live cameras caught Scheffler receiving neck treatment on the 14th tee box, this just after making his second birdie in four holes to open his second round and move him to 7 under for the tournament, one back at the time of Wyndham Clark’s lead.
Scottie had the honor after his birdie at 13 but he immediately went from the green to get his neck worked on. Rickie and JT teed off ahead of him and JT walked down the fairway while waiting. Scottie still was getting worked on for a minute or so after they teed off. https://t.co/swbvN8iYHP pic.twitter.com/Yabi7OZocP

Sean Martin with the PGA Tour also said Scheffler first talked to a rules official about treatment options on the 12th hole. Martin overheard Scheffler asking whether someone could bring him Biofreeze.
Whatever pain Scheffler is in, he isn’t letting it affect his golf game much as of now. Here’s to hoping he’ll be able to fight through and finish the tournament.
