Paige Spiranac recently took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to explain how the handicap system in golf works after fans asked her about it. Spiranac shared that an A+ handicap is better than a scratch, while an A+3 handicap is better but not enough to compete against pros.

She also explained that it’s easy to calculate a handicapped score by taking the average of a player’s best eight scores from their last 20 matches. According to the former golfer turned model, professional players do not keep their handicap.

“1. A + handicap is better than scratch. 2. A +3 handicap is good but no where close to completing against the best in the world. I don’t think people realize how good they are, how hard the courses are set up, and all while doing it under extreme pressure. It’s a different game they play,” she wrote in the post’s caption.

In her post, Paige Spiranac also revealed her handicap score, stating it’s +3.4. Spiranac was once a professional golfer who played on the Cactus Tour and attempted to earn an LPGA Tour card but was unsuccessful. Despite this, she enjoyed significant success as a professional player and even won one event in her career.

However, she later switched her career path and began creating golf content for her social media pages. She currently plays golf, not professionally, primarily for her videos and fun. She often shares advice with her fans on how to improve their game. On her YouTube channel, where she has 421k subscribers, Spiranac frequently shares golf-related videos.

Paige Spiranac struggled to take an easy shot while practicing golf
Earlier this month, Paige Spiranac uploaded a video on her YouTube channel sharing her worst outing on the greens. The American former golfer opened up about golfers’ difficulties on the greens.

The clip showed her taking a shot on the course, but as she hit the tee ball, it got lost in the greens. Spiranac later expressed her frustration, saying:

“I will say there’s no worse feeling as a golfer than hitting a good shot and not knowing where your ball went. And there’s like a part of you that wants to check to see if you made it or not, and then you didn’t, and now you’re like. Okay, great now, I’m just off the green somewhere I don’t know where I am at.” (2:46)

However, she finally found the ball downhill but again struggled to take the shot. She then tried hitting three balls simultaneously but again struggled on the golf course to get the ball into the hole. She took a few more shots and finally got the ball into the tee hole.

Paige Spiranac frequently plays golf and shares videos on all her social media platforms. She enjoys 4 million followers on Instagram and one million on Twitter.
