Bryson DeChambeau won the US Open this year, but he says he hasn’t been successful at all when it comes to scoring eagles until he shot one at the LIV Golf Andalucia.
Rejoicing in his moment of satisfaction, the LIV golfer opened up about his thoughts at a press conference on Saturday after the match. Bryson DeChambeau explained how he had been in good form but eagles were rare in his life.
“ I’ve been very blessed and I’m on a good streak in my life. You have ups and downs in your career and look I’ve only made one hole-in-one in my life. So I’ll say I’m pretty downward trending motion on that. So anytime you can get what you can get out there and hole out a slam dunk… I’ve never slam dunked it – that was the cool part – that’s what I was appreciative of. And golf is golf, you’re going have weird stuff happen to you,” DeChambeau said (3:18-3:45).
He continued, “There’s plenty of players that have 40 hole in ones, there’s players that have one hole in one like myself. So it’s just a crazy game and one you got to just look at it and laugh and love it because of it.” (3:45-3:54)
Bryson DeChambeau shot his first eagle on hole 14 on Saturday’s round of LIV Golf Andalucia. His final score was 67 at the end of the round.
