“Yes… if it was 15 years ago”; “Why?” – Fans trolls LIV Golf for proposing a 1v1 9 hole YouTube match between Dustin Johnson and Anthony Kim

LIV Golf recently proposed a 1v1 9-hole YouTube match between Anthony Kim and Dustin Johnson. However, many fans online trolled the league for this idea.

Dustin Johnson has been playing on the LIV Golf circuit since the league’s inception and is captain of the 4Aces GC. Anthony Kim joined the league earlier this year.

On Saturday, July 6, LIV Golf proposed a 1v1 YouTube match between Johnson and Kim.

Fans online didn’t look impressed with the idea and trolled the Saudi-backed circuit for this proposal. Here’s a look at some reactions:

“Why and no,” another fan posted.
“That’s embarrassing for DJ to be compared to AK. For him to have to admit his game has fallen that far off the cliff isn’t good,” this fan opined.
“I think @AnthonyKim_Golf should consider going on to the Korn Ferry tour to get back to developing his game skills like they do on a AAA farm league. JMO. I wish him well,” another fan commented.
“I’m a LIV fan but would have no interest in that at all. No offense to Dustin or Anthony, but pair Bryson with Paige and Brooks with Charley Hull, and it would definitely be worth watching,” this fan posted.
“Oh you could give it a cool name…maybe ‘The Match’ or something and play it prime time on TNT. Maybe even throw an amateur celeb with each of them. LIV is the cutting edge visionary golf needs,” one user wrote.
What’s next for Anthony Kim and Dustin Johnson?
Anthony Kim and Dustin Johnson will next play at the LIV Golf Andalucia, the tenth event of the season. The event will take place at Real Club Valderrama from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 14.
Johnson has won one event this season, but it has still been an underwhelming season for him. He won the LIV Golf Las Vegas but managed only two other top-ten finishes. Currently, he is placed 11th in the standings.

The two-time major champion has had a disappointing showing at the majors. He tied for 43rd at the PGA Championship and missed the cut at both the Masters Tournament and the US Open.

As for Anthony Kim, he hasn’t finished better than T48 in his six appearances this year. He is currently sitting at T55 in the season standings.
