Aaron Rai has won his first PGA Tour event.
The 29-year-old finished 18-under-par at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Sunday to claim his first win.
It was Max Greyserman’s game to lose heading into Sunday’s final. He led for much of the round, but Rai worked his way into the mix on the backstretch. Rai finally took the lead after Greyserman four-putted the 16th hole.

Rai played a clean game on Sunday, avoiding any bogeys and recording six birdies. The strong play from Rai plus Greyserman’s struggles on the final holes led to his first win on the PGA Tour.

I’m not sure Aaron Rai gets enough credit for how consistent a player he is. Top-20 finishes in five of his last six starts, three of them top-10s. Just turns up week after week and plays well.

Aaron Rai. Onions.

Max Greyserman’s back 9 vs. Aaron Rai’s. Slow and steady wins the race.

First win for the Englishman who is one of the nicest guys out there. Awesome story too with his humble beginnings and the sacrifice his family made for him to be a pro golfer. Will be in Ryder Cup mix. pic.twitter.com/EDL7hLFHMq

Max Greyserman with the rare eagle-quad on 13-14 to grab a four-shot lead and lose it all in the span of two holes. That’s wild.

This Max Greyserman collapse is unbelievable, so hard to win on the PGA tour, would be really cool to see Aaron Rai win, plus that gets him into next year’s masters

Aaron Rai is absolutely a deserving @PGATOUR winner. He’s been playing some outstanding golf for a couple months now and it was only a matter of time before he got it done.

But man, how can you not feel sick for Max Greyserman? Brutal and then some. @WyndhamChamp
For fans of Rai, Sunday was a good day as he finally managed to become a champion after 89 starts. He’s been knocking on the door of a win with five top-10 finishes this season. Now, he finally has a coveted win at the Wyndham Championship.
Fans of Greyserman had quite the opposite experience on Sunday. The 29-year-old seemed destined for a win heading into the final few holes, but his collapse ultimately kept him from his first win of the season.
