Incredible footage has shown the moment a small plane dramatically crash landed on to a golf course, skidding across the putting green and just narrowly missing a golfer.
The golfer appeared to be preparing to hit a ball when they spotted the plane and jumped back out of the way just seconds before it hit the ground on Sunday at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, California.
Only the pilot was on board when the single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed on to the course at about 1.15pm local time, the US Federal Aviation Administration reported.
The agency said it would investigate alongside the National Transportation Safety Board.

The Sacramento Fire Department shared a video of the aftermath that showed the aircraft had been stopped by a building. It appeared one of the wings had been ripped off.
“Crews arrived to a plane that emergency landed on the golf course and came to rest up against the pro shop,” the fire department said.
Remarkably the pilot was able to walk away from the crash and no one else was injured.

The pilot had just taken off from the nearby McClellan Airfield when the aircraft’s engine shut down at about 400 feet, Sacramento television station KCRA reported.
Sacramento Fire Department Captain Justin Sylvia said “surprisingly” the pilot only had a small cut to his hand.
“He knew that he was not going to make it back to the airport,” he told the network.
“This was the safest place he could find.”
