Keegan Bradley will get some prep work done in Canada. Bradley, the recently named U.S. Ryder Cup captain, has been tapped as an assistant captain for this year’s Presidents Cup.
Bradley joins Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard and Kevin Kisner as assistants under captain Jim Furyk.
“Keegan is a tremendous competitor with a bulldog mentality and we are looking forward to having his voice in the team room,” Furyk said in a release on Wednesday. “He has a strong passion for match play competition and I know he will be an asset to our players in 2024, as well as 2025, as he leads them into Bethpage Black for the 2025 Ryder Cup.”
In addition to his two Ryder Cups (2012, 2014), Bradley also played the 2013 Presidents Cup at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. He finished the week with a 2-2-1 record in the Americans’ win.
“I was ecstatic to get the call from Jim and looking forward to doing all I can to help our team,” Bradley said in a release. “With the Ryder Cup on the horizon next year, this will be a great experience for me to understand the other side of the team room and how that camaraderie and coaching helps our guys play their best.”
The 2024 Presidents Cup begins Sept. 26-29 at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Canada. The U.S. is 12-1-1 all-time in the event and has won the last nine meetings.
Bradley was named U.S. Ryder Cup captain three weeks ago. So far he’s added Webb Simpson as a vice captain, with more to be named later.
